| What does
Children of Peace do?
Since its begining in 1993 COPI
has helped thousands of people with a variety of projects:
Schools and Orphanages.
Children of Peace International currently supports eleven schools
and orpahanages in Vietnam. They are located in Viet Tri, Thanh
Ba, Ha Long, Hue, Nha Trang, Buon Me Thuot, Lai Thieu, Ho Chi Minh
City, Go Vap and Thu Duc. The schools and orphanages serve over
4,500 children.
Scholarships.
Children of Peace International offers scholarships and vocational training
to children in the orphanages and to the poor children in the surrounding
communities.
Micro-Loan Programs.
This
program makes small interest-free loans to single women with children to
help them finance cottage industries so that the family can stay together.
Hospital Support.
Children of Peace International provides medical equipment, training,
and other support for hospitals throughout Vietnam.
HIV center.
In
cooperation with the Vietnamese government, COPI built Vietnam's
first pediatric HIV center in Ho Chi Minh City.
Community Support.
South
of Hanoi is one of the poorest regions in all of Vietnam. Children of Peace
International has provided funds to build clean water wells and for health
care for the ethnic minority people in Hoa Binh.
Medical Missions.
Children of Peace organizes and sponsors American medical teams who travel
to Vietnam and deliver dental and medical care to the orphans and poor
people of the neighboring communities. |
